The premiere of the very much anticipated movie, ‘The Wedding party’, finally held on Saturday November 26, 2016 with great support from headline sponsor, Dubai Tourism. Besides the cast of the movie who were evidently the stars of the night, Sola Sobowale, Richard Mofe Damijo, Ireti Doyle, Banky W, Adesuwa Etomi, Ali Baba, the executive producer, Mo Abudu, director, Kemi Adetiba etc, the guest list read like the who is who in the enteratainment world with several others from the business world lending their support.
In addition to the amazing prizes won by guests which included luxury accommodation courtesy Arabian Falcon, theme park passes courtesy IMG Worlds of Adventure, helicopter rides courtesy Alpha Tours Helicopter Rides as well as other VVIP gifts, the premiere also broke the record for the largest ‘mannequin challenge’ in Nigeria with an entire theatre posing in tribute to the recent social media phenomenon. Written by playwright, Tosin Otudeko and Kemi Adetiba, ‘The Wedding Party’ is an Elfike Film Collective production, a collaboration of Africa’s leading powerhouses, EbonyLife Films, FilmOne Distribution, Inkblot Productions and Koga Studios, thus making it the first time industry giants will partner on a film project. Set in Lagos, Nigeria, The Wedding Party is the story of Dunni Coker (Adesua Etomi), a 24 year old art gallery owner and only daughter of her parents about to marry the love of her life, IT entrepreneur Dozie (Banky W). The couple who took a vow of chastity were looking forward to a ground-breaking first night together as a married couple.
