Abuja based lawyer, Adaobi Alagwu, a former mistress of controversial businessman Tunde Ayeni has found love again and given it another chance. She is now married to a sitting member of the House of Representatives, Honourable Akarachi Amadi Etinosa, a first-term member. Akarachi represents the Mbaitoli/Ikeduru Federal Constituency of Imo State under the All Progressives Congress, APC. The couple reportedly had their registry wedding in Ikoyi, Lagos, before proceeding with their traditional wedding ceremony in February.

But what makes this marriage particularly interesting is the highly publicized controversy that surrounded Adaobi before this new chapter.

If you have followed this story, then you already know that Adaobi has been in the public spotlight since 2023, following a paternity dispute with businessman Tunde Ayeni, a former chairman of the now-defunct Skye Bank. Adaobi had publicly claimed that Ayeni was the biological father of her child, Omarosa Abimbola Ayeni. However, Ayeni strongly denied this claim and described the relationship as one of the darkest moments of his life.

The situation became even more complicated when Adaobi claimed that the two of them were traditionally married. But Ayeni also denied that claim and went to court, where a ruling eventually declared that no valid customary marriage existed between them. Adaobi maintained that a DNA test conducted in the United Kingdom confirmed Ayeni’s paternity. However, Ayeni disputed the results, alleging that the DNA evidence presented by her was not authentic and insisting that she refused to submit to another test at a different centre.

Then in February 2025, another dramatic moment happened in the saga. Adaobi’s family returned the bride price that had allegedly been paid by Ayeni, which traditionally signals the formal end of a relationship or marriage under customary law.

Since then, the legal battle has continued, with Ayeni insisting on seeing the case to a logical end.
