Although his love for fashion and his venturing into it began over a decade ago, it wasn’t until 2018 that Osereme Brown decided to give his craft some sort of semblance by naming it after his famous father, Ebewele Brown as a way to immortalise his father who was a Nigerian sportsman, administrator and politician.
Osereme likes to believe that immortalising him isn’t just about continuing his father’s legacy but also about accountability on his own part. He early on, understood the importance of building something that would stand tall like the man it was named after.
Well, the younger Brown has given a good account of himself in terms of how well his fashion brand has thrived from inception till date and he has by extension, no doubt, made his father proud.
The brand which began in Abuja has since expanded to include a 500 square meter fabric factory which employs about 100 professional tailors, artisans etc. which not only caters to his flagship brand and its sister brands but also to the diverse needs of other brands not affiliated with his luxury bespoke tailoring Ebewele Brown brand.
Not satisfied with operating only in Abuja, the younger Brown expanded his tentacles to include Conakry, the capital city of Guinea and recently threw the doors of its Lagos outlet, the fashion capital of the country, open.
With a clientele that includes celebrities, political figures, and cultural icons, the Ebewele Brown brand is widely recognised for redefining modern African elegance through its three distinct labels, each grounded in the same ethos of quality, culture, and character. There is the Ebewele Brown Signature line, a bespoke menswear that blends European fabrics with Afrocentric silhouettes; the OLDWYN line, which offers ready-to-wear sophistication for men on the move; and the Sainte line, the brand’s upscale casual wear which caters for the young, upwardly mobile and fashion-forward. All three lines though distinct, are statements of African identity told through clean lines, meticulous finishing, and unmistakable confidence.
That the brand has earned national acclaim for its meticulous craftsmanship, Afrocentric sophistication, and storytelling through fashion cannot be overemphasized.
In addition to churning out pieces for his ever-growing A-list clientele, Osereme is committed to mentoring emerging talents and inspiring young creatives. through his story of transformation and purpose-driven leadership.
Osereme’s journey to success is one marked by resilience, reinvention, and cultural pride. Though often reserved about his growing list of awards and recognition that celebrates his creativity and entrepreneurial excellence, he prefers to let his work speak for itself, staying focused on the long road ahead and the vision yet to be fully realized. Ebewele Brown continues to raise the bar for African fashion; proving that homegrown luxury, rooted in identity and excellence, can resonate globally.
