Last week, Disney, producers of he much anticipated The Lion King movie, announced that Beyonce has curated an produced an album set for release the same date “The Lion King” hits cinemas which is July 19th. Disney had said the album, titled “The Lion King: The Gift” features global recording artists and steeped in the sounds of Africa.
The tracklist has been released and it features quite a number of Nigerian stars like Burna Boy, Wizkid, Tiwa Savage, Mr Eazi, Yemi Alade, Tekno. Also, Ghanaian dancehall star, Shatta Wale, and South Africa’s Busiswa and Moonchild Sanelly are also featured in the album. Blue Ivy, Jay-Z, Pharell, Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar are also on the album.
Beyoncé will be voicing Nala, the lion who becomes queen, in the upcoming Disney musical drama which also stars Donald Glover, James Earl Jones, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Billy Eichner, Seth Rogen, Alfre Woodard and John Oliver.
