After more than two decades in business of cake making, the undisputed king of cake craft, Tosan Jemide is set to retire. But rather than retire into oblivion and do nothing like very aged folks, Tosan who recently clocked 50 may likely get quite busy with a lineup of other projects which includes mentoring, setting up a cake school and writing. He infact has a book in the offing, ‘Sugar Icing’, which will be launched next month. This is in addition to focusing more on one of his latest ventures, bread-making where he churns out mouth watering breads via Topcrust Bakeries.

Tosan Jemide who founded the successful cake company, Cakes by Tosan for which he won acclaim with exploits that include the production of the tallest cake in Africa, a 28-foot masterpiece unveiled in 2013 to global recognition and acclaim, is also known to be the first choice for many members of Nigerian elite, whom he provides he services to. Tosan who is the current president of the Premium Breadmakers Association of Nigeria, noted that he was grateful for the many opportunities he had received over the past two decades. He is also excited about what he calls the new phase of Tosan Jemide, which he refers to as CBTImpact, focused on giving back to society.
