Tiwa Savage has broken her silence amid the ongoing xenophobic attacks against foreign nationals, especially Nigerians, in South Africa. The singer announced that she will no longer be performing at the upcoming DSTV Delicious Festival in Johannesburg and also shared her condolences with the families of those murdered in the gruesome xenophobic attacks.

“I refuse to watch the barbaric butchering of my people in SA. This is SICK. For this reason, I will NOT be performing at the upcoming DSTV delicious Festival in Johannesburg on the 21st of September. My prayers are with all the victims and families affected by this,” she tweeted.

This comes a day after Burna Boy took the same stand, vowing never to set foot in South again for any reason until the South African government addresses the issue.

Similarly, comedian Basketmouth has also canceled his appearance at the Comic Choice Awards in South Africa as a way to protest against the xenophobic attacks against Nigerians.
