Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have arrested eight suspects involved in gang raping an 11-year-old girl (names withheld) to death in Ejigbo area of the state on September 30.

Among the eight suspects, Police said they had confirmed two as culprits. They are: Quadri Azeez, 22 and Sunday Odunayo, 23.

The Lagos State Police Spokesman, SP Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed the arrest.
“We have eight suspects already. Two out of them have been confirmed to have been involved in the heinous crime while we are still working on the rest.”

According to reports, one of the suspects, Azeez, was arrested in Ogun State after some vigilantes nabbed him during a robbery operation which led to the arrest of Odunayo. The suspects, it was learnt, have been transferred to the SCID, Panti, Yaba, Lagos for further investigations.
