Yesterday was a very happy day for the families of Nigeria’s Vice-President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Prince Shina Bakare and Hajia Bola Shagaya, as both families came together to hold a traditional engagement for their children, Damilola Osinbajo and Oluseun Bakare at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

As earlier published here, the vice president opted for a low key event and only a few family members and governors attended the event which also had Pastor Folu Adeboye in attendance. The ceremony which started at Osinbajo’s Aguda House official residence ended with a reception at the old banquet hall in the presidential villa. The church wedding is scheduled to take place at the National Christian Centre, Abuja, on Saturday.

It is worthy to note that the bride’s outfit was a Komole Iro and Buba in Angel Skin from the House of Deola Sagoe.

Also called Shamsideen, Seun who is a practicing Christian and Damilola met during the monthly Church’s Divine Encounter programme held at the Abuja stadium. From then on, he would regularly sight her at the programme and at the monthly Holy Ghost service but never had a conversation with her. But as fate would have it, he met her again at an event in Abuja. This time he did not let the opportunity pass him by. He walked up to her, and as they say the rest is history.
