The year has barely begun and some music acts are already unleashing their creative license with the release of new singles. First is singer and song writer, Omawumi. Having failed to release an album in 2016 as she had projected, following her duet with Grammy Award winning singer and actress, Angelique Kidjo, Play Na Play, the Megbele singer has unveiled the visuals to her new single, Butterflies, which is the first single for her new album titled Timeless. A powerful ballad with live instrumentation recording, it was produced by Cobhams Asuquo and written by Omawunmi herself.

Dancehall singer, Patoranking equally kicked off 2017, by releasing the music video for the titled track of his debut LP, God Over Everything. The gospel tinged ragga number is brought to life by a cinematic and provoking visual directed by Sesan Ogunro.

Not to be left out is rising act, Prince Simon Olateru-Olagbegi, a student of Music and Creative Arts at Babcock University, more popularly known as Freaky P. He starts off 2017 with the release of a fresh new single titled #COMMIT, an up-tempo Afro-pop tune. It features versatile producer/sound engineer, TeeBeeO who also produced the song.
