Former Ogun Allied People’s Movement‘s governorship candidate, Adekunle Akinlade in 2019 election, has led scores of loyalists of former Governor Ibikunle Amosun to the All Progressives Congress. Akinlade and other loyalists of Amosun had left the APC for APM prior to the last election after losing the tickets to the state governor, Dapo Abiodun and other candidates.

Akinlade who was the preferred candidate of Amosun in the last election, on Monday, announced that he and other members of the APM have resolved to return to the APC, 15 months after they dumped the party. The governorship candidate while making the announcement, insisted that they remain the legitimate owners of the APC.

He explained that he and his loyalists left APC in October 2018 because of the alleged injustice meted to them by the national leadership of the party. He, however, said it became imperative for them to set their grievances aside and return to their party after they had used all available means to fight the injustice.
