During the 2017 edition of the Aquafina Elite Model show which took place last month in commemoration of their 10^th year anniversary, virtually all of the models who passed through the modelling agency and have gone on to achieve greater success on international runways were present to celebrate the success of the modeling agency that gave them a platform to excel. Mayowa Nicholas, winner of the 2014 edition of the modeling competition was however unable to make it to the show. Mayowa Nicholas who has graced several international fashion runways for the big names in the fashion world as well as making it into the fashion editorials of top notch lifestyle magazines was busy preparing to walk the Victoria’s Secret fashion show. A dream come true for anyone in the modeling world, it would have been the first time a Nigerian would have walked one of the most well organized shows, especially because of its rigorous casting processes. Unfortunately that wasn’t to be as she was reportedly denied Chinese Visa and thus couldn’t realize her dream. The 19 year old was one of the six models, including Gigi Hadid (whose sister, Bella Hadid made it to the show), who couldn’t walk the runway of the show which took place in Shanghai, China on Sunday, November 20th 2017. No reason was however stated for Mayowa’s Visa rejection.
