The Prosecutor, Inspector Fagboyibo Abiodun, said the baby sustained injuries all over his body.

Adeyemo was also charged for exploiting a child and being prejudicial to the welfare of the child. The accused who could not afford a lawyer on his behalf pleaded not guilty to the two-count charges and told the court that his mother was spiritually behind every evil befalling him.

According to him: “I have five children from five different mothers. Several pastors I consulted told me that my mother was the one bewitching me. I am a taxi driver but things have not been fine for me. The son I assaulted with sticks is the son that my fourth wife bore for me.”

Chief Magistrate Modupe Awodele remanded Adeyemo in Ilesha Correctional Centre and adjourned the case to July 14, 2020
