Life after divorce: Dunni Igbinedion gets her groove back

When Dunni Igbinedion got married to Fred Igbinedion, one of the sons of the Esama of benin kingdom, Sir Gabriel Igbinedion, a few years ago, in a very extravagant and elaborate wedding, not many would have imagined that they would eventually go their separate ways, given how into each other they both were. It looked like they were a match made in heaven as they were the envy of many.

Interestingly, Fred met Dunni at the University of Ibadan while he attended a Polo tournament in the Oyo State capital city with a friend. It was love at first sight for the couple. So smitten were they with each other that they couldn’t bear to part at their first encounter and afterwards. It was hardly surprising, therefore, that their brief encounter in Ibadan, culminated in wedlock. Together, they put concerted effort and energy into making the marriage work.

Unfortunately, the gods of divorce were equally working over time to ensure that their efforts went down the drains.  And then their marriage crashed. It was the worst thing imaginable. Friends and family watched in dismay as the harsh notes intruded the couple’s joy leaving them disoriented with the mess that has become of their marriage.

Expectedly, the couple attributed the breakdown of their marriage to irreconcilable differences. But close friends claim Fred was only living on his father’s glory and couldn’t consolidate on his father’s wealth. They claimed he wasn’t quite as liquid as he made everyone believe. They were of the opinion that Dunni got deceived into thinking that she would be well settled materially and financially, only to have reality hit her in the face. Also, many close acquaintances were so sure infidelity played a huge part of why the union broke down irretrievably.

Well Dunni has since reverted to her maiden name, Bisiriyu and she seems to be happy with her now single status and is living her life to the fullest as was seen during one of her recent outings.
