60 year old Hollywood veteran, Daniel Day-Lewis is closing the curtain on a trade he loves and has dominated for four decades, acting. He has however not given any reason for wanting to retire. Considered one of the most significant actors of his generation, Daniel who began acting at age 14, will be retiring from acting after the debut of his farewell movie with a yet to be released title. The movie is scheduled to hit theaters on December 25, 2017.

A three-time Oscar winner, his first Oscar was in the movie, ‘Lincoln’, his second for ‘There Will Be Blood’ and his third in ‘My Left Foot.’ He also has two Oscar nominations for his roles in ‘Gangs of New York’ and ‘In the Name of the Father.’ A versatile actor, he is known for going the extra length in the portrayal of the characters he plays and has played a variety of characters.

He is also known to be quite selective in the movies he features in and got his acting prowess from his English actress mother, Jill Balcon. He is married to writer and director, Rebecca Miller.
