That socialite, Fola Ogunlesi, the prosperous proprietor of popular events centre, Fantasyland on Kingsway Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, has gotten his groove back would be simply putting it mildly. The bearded brother to Lanre of Sophisticat and Ade, in the wake of his bitter separation from his ex wife, Omolewa, Fola was shown the physical interpretation of hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.

When the going was good, Fola and Omolewa were the quintessential role model of many young couples, going everywhere and doing everything together, vowing to grow old and grey together. They were like two peas in a pod – inseparable, and blissfully in love. She had unfettered access to his property portfolio which would augur well for her when their union went south. Unfortunately, all that lovey dovey came to an abrupt halt for reasons no one is yet to decipher. So bad did things get between them that they even resorted to engaging in fisticuffs in the full glare of the public. It was indeed a sad way for the once beautiful union to come to an end.

Interestingly, before Omolewa was his first wife, Idowu, a popluar fabric dealer at the Alade market, Ikeja. Ironically, Omolewa was Idowu’s very good friend but Fola damned all consequences and married Omolewa who didn’t mind to be second wife, thus leading to Idowu moving out her matrimonial home without much fuss. Quite unlike Idowu, Omolewa insisted on holding on to some choice properties that were in her care when things between her and Fola began to go south. This plunged Fola into dire financial mess thus prompting him to look for a way out of his situation, one of which was to sell off some of his remaining properties.

Luckily for him, the billionaire chairman of Globacom Nigeria Ltd, Mike Adenuga came to his rescue and bought off one his properties, a high rise in Banana Island for which the businessman paid handsomely for. Fola has since gotten his groove back. Not only has he returned to the social mix he abandoned to  enable him exorcise the ghosts of his two failed marriages and find his feet back financially, he has since given love a third chance and is happily married to a lady known as Ireti, a mother of two who appeared to fill the void in his love life.
