Swap vampy lips and smoky eyes for delicate shades of pink, purple, green, and blue which will instantly brighten up your look and mood this Easter. There are many ways to wear pastel makeup that are not only trendy, but are also beautiful. Pastel colors are not always easy to pull off so if you’re having some trouble finding the right ways to wear pastel makeup, here are ways you can incorporate them into your routine.

Keep your complexion sheer
To avoid looking retro, keep your complexion sheer and glowing. Choose either a BB or CC Cream instead of a foundation, and if you feel you need some extra coverage, just spot blend concealer really well, so that the skin doesn’t look heavy. It should look fresh and feminine.

Stick with one eye shadow shade
Forget blending different eye shadow colours. Go for a one shade only and use that as a wash over the lid for a beautiful, soft look. If you want a stronger look, you could choose a graphic eyeliner in a pastel shade and wear it against a neutral eye. Apply it so it is quite bold and wing it out. Then, layer mascara so you don’t look washed out around the eyes.
Note: Impeccably groomed and defined brows are a must. Keep it structured, but not too heavy.

Keep cheeks sheer and pretty
A pinkish tone works for lighter complexions, while a fresh coral-orange is wonderful on darker skin. Avoid powder. You want a formula that is fresh and where you can still see the skin coming through. A light stain or tint on the apples of the cheeks will give a fresh flush and glow. Don’t try to contour, or apply too heavily.

Play with lip colours
Pastels can often have a matt finish so play around with different textures and add a gloss over your lipstick. You can have a lovely stain of colour then sheer gloss on the top, or simply use gloss alone.

Try it on your nails
If you’re a bit shy to wear it on your face this is a great way to embrace the look.
