Former governor of Cross Rivers State, Donald Duke and Teju Philips, daughter of late billionaire, Dehinde Fernandez, went all out for the grand finale of their children’s union, Xerona Duke and Derin Philips. The wedding ceremonies which began earlier in the year was rounded off in Lagos last weekend with a holy solemnization and a grand reception. Proceedings for the day began with a church ceremony at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Olive Tree Parish, Banana Isand.

The Church wedding ceremony was attended by personalities as Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo and wife, Dolapo, the First Lady of Lagos State, Mrs Bolanle Ambode, Governor Udom Emmanuel, Mr Femi Otedola, Chief Ernest Shonekan and wife, Margaret and Dr Sam Egwu and wife, Eunice. Later, the wedding train moved to the Balmoral Convention Centre, located in the Federal Palace Hotel where the reception took place.

The event which was planned by one of the leading event management companies, Elizabeth R owned by Ibidunni Ighodalo was on hand to personally ensure that the arrangements were perfect. Chairman of the occasion was UBA Chairman, Tony Elumelu who in his short speech advised the couple to communicate all the time and pray together.

The former governor who is member of Nigeria’s social establishment not only changed from his well cut suit into a traditional attire, the presidential aspirant also took time out to show off a side of him which many people didn’t know besides playing the sax, singing. He joined Akin Shuga on the band stand singing alongside him to the delight of guests.
