Africa’s wealthiest man, Aliko Dangote is distancing himself and his company, Dangote Group from the use of his trucks to illegally transport Northern youths to the South via a letter addressed to Ohaneze Ndigbo.

Dear Sir,
Allegation of illegal haulage against Dangote Industries Ltd

Our attention has been drawn to various media reports (print and online) alleging that trucks belonging to the Dangote Industries Limited are being deliberately used to transport Northern youths to the South. The Management of Company categorically denies these spurious and misleading allegations, and hereby call upon the general public to disregard such reports. We also wish to solicit the assistance of the general public in the fight to rid the Organization of illegal haulage activities being perpetrated by some unscrupulous persons.

Dangote Trucks are permitted to transport only the following materials:

  • DANGOTE CEMENT PLC – Dangote Cement, Limestone, High Grade Gypsum and Coal;
  • DANGOTE SUGAR REFINERY PLC- Dangote Sugar;
  • NASCON ALLIED INDUSTRIES PLC – Dangote Salt & DanQ Seasoning;
  • DANGOTE AGROSACKS LIMITED – Dangote-branded Sacks and Bags

We hereby alert the public to report any suspected Dangote Truck driver involved in illegal haulage supported with credible evidence of such act. To make a report, call Dangote Industries Management hotline on all information regarding illegal haulage activities on Obajana – 08131768000; lbese- 08131771111, 08131770999 and 08131771000 or email us at customercare@dangote.com.

We plead with members of the public that while making the report, to remember to include the following details: Truck Type, Truck Plate Number, Truck Cab No., Location of the Truck, Contents of the Truck, Colour of the Truck and Photograghs of the Truck and goods if possible.

The Police and/or other law enforcement agents are also authorized to arrest any Dangote Truck driver involved in such illegal act. At any time, only two persons are authorized to be in our truck; the driver and his assistant.

Dangote Industries Limited also wishes to warn those who illegally transport materials on Dangote Trucks that such unauthorized goods shall be confiscated and such drivers and/or owners prosecuted to the full extent of the Law.
