Breaking: Gunmen abduct over 200 schoolgirls in Zamfara State

Some over 200 schoolgirls have been abducted from Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, in Talata-Mafara local government area of Zamfara state.

Some over 200 schoolgirls have been abducted from Government Girls Secondary School, Jangebe, in Talata-Mafara local government area of Zamfara state.

Residents said gunmen invaded the community at midnight.

“They attacked some houses along their way, and headed straight to the school,” Abubakar Jangebe, a resident said.

“They took some of the girls and went into the bush. We don’t know what is happening right now.”

The state Governor, Bello Matawalle confirmed the incident to Reuters.

This latest round of abduction is coming barely 10 days after the abduction of some students of the Government Science College Kagara in Niger state.
