Multi-talented and dynamic drummer, Aralola Olumuyiwa, more popularly known as Ara, has concluded plans for the premiere of her latest movie, ‘Osunfunke’. Ara who has since returned to Atunda entertainment owned by Otunba Wanle Akinboboye, has partnered with the Osun State government for the eponymous project,

Not many are aware that Ara’s love for the arts transcends just playing the drum. With the movie, she has proved that she is not only a versatile entertainer but one who understands the place and importance of culture and heritage in the entertainment business. Little wonder the story line is one that helps to project the culture of Osun State.

Osun State which is known to have some of the best tourist attractions in the South-West, prompted Ara to explore the ambience and scenery for the movie shoot. This she believes will further encourage the culture and tourism potentials of the state.

Directed by Dj Tee, the movie was shot with some of the best high definition cameras in the tourist areas of Ipinle Omoluabi, Osogbo, Osun State and features quite a number of stars which includes Ricardo Agbor, Baba Wande, Doris Simeon, Yemi Shodimu, Peju Ogunmola, Ijesha, Femi Jacobs, indigenous rapper, Olamide and Ara herself both as an actor and the producer.

‘Osunfunke’s’ storyline is about a lady from the Adegbite royal family who are known as the ‘Arugba’ (Calabash Carrier) during the Osun Osogbo Festival. However, something terrible happens to her in school that strips her of her right of being an Arugba. After school, she meets a man who was responsible for the loss of her position as an ‘Arugba’. Attraction, betrayal, deceit intertwine as she struggles to deal with her past which threatened to consume her aspirations.

The screening of the movie, ‘Osunfunke’, which is expected to attract entertainers, culture and tourism lovers is billed to take place in the month of September 2017 in Osogbo, Osun State.
